What is Planning Poker and how does it work?

Planning Poker is a consensus-based agile estimation technique. Each person privately selects a card representing the effort or complexity of a story, and all votes are revealed at the same time. Simultaneous reveal reduces anchoring bias and turns different estimates into a focused conversation about risks and shared understanding.

In Battle Poker, the team can use Fibonacci cards, ? to request more information and ☕ to suggest a break. After the reveal, participants can compare the average and distribution, vote again or confirm the agreed estimate and keep the decision in the room history.
